Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson collides with Atlanta's Dunta Robinson and sustains a serious concussion and some memory loss. Don't expect to see him back in the lineup soon.

If you happened to see the game on television, you know how serious the collision was between Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson and Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson. It was the kind of hit that makes you cringe, even if you're sitting at home.

Now we know how serious it was. Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Jackson suffered a serious concussion when he was run into by Robinson in the second quarter Sunday. Glazer said that Jackson suffered some memory loss, and coach Andy Reid said he wasn't sure how long the receiver would be sidelined.

"That was scary," Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin said.

Actually, it was worse than that. Both players remained on the ground for several minutes, and both had to be helped off the field. With the NFL taking an especially cautious approach toward the issue of concussions, you can bet Jackson won't be back in uniform for a while. And that's a good thing.
