Thaddeus Gibson to the Redskins

The Washington Redskins were awarded outside linebacker Thaddeus Gibson on waivers from the San Francisco 49ers over competing claims from the Chicago Bears and the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a league source.

Gibson is a former Steelers fourth-round draft pick from Ohio State. The 6-foot-2, 243-pounder has three tackles and one forced fumble in three NFL games. Heavily recruited, Gibson chose the Buckeyes over Michigan and Tennesse
