"I felt like I was moving in slow motion a bit," Burress told reporters. "I was right there, where I was supposed to be."
Burress caught three passes for 65 yards from quarterback Mark Sanchez in one half of play.
This marked a big night for Burress, who signed with the Jets after being incarcerated in a New York prison for two years on a gun charge and being cut by the New York Giants.
Now, the former Giants Super Bowl hero is building a rapport with Sanchez and starting all over again with a fresh start in New York with Gotham City's other football team.
"I can see us really elevating our play," Burress said.
