The San Francisco 49ers have hammered out a three-year contract extension with veteran running back Frank Gore, ending a contract dispute that was growing contentious. Now, Gore is locked up and presumably extremely happy after receiving $21 million in new money and $13.5 million in guaranteed money, according to Pro Football Talk.

Gore is due a $4.9 million base salary this year.

It's not a huge contract by elite running back standards, but it's definitely a respectable level of compensation for an accomplished player who wanted some financial security as he enters another season with a new coaching staff led by Jim Harbaugh.
