The Tennessee Titans placed holdout star running back Chris Johnson on the reserve/did not report…
Chris Johnson inks $53.5 million deal
The blockbuster deal rewards Johnson after years of disputes over his contract, his original rookie deal.
Now, the Titans have locked up their top offensive threat for the next four years.
Johnson had refused to report to training camp until he got a new contract.
There was a recent meeting between Johnson and his agent, Joel Segal, and Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt. Although no progress was made at that meeting in Nashville, it appeared to thaw the ice between the two sides.
This makes the Titans a much better football team, and undoubtedly relieves the anxiety of rookie coach Mike Munchak. For more coverage of the NFL, go to profootball.scout.com.
