Washington Redskins cornerback Phillip Buchanon has been suspened for four games for violating the NFL performance-enhancing drug policy. It's unclear what Buchanon took to trigger the violation. Buchanon's suspension took effect today and he's ineligible to play in games or practice until the suspension is over.

Buchanon is a former University of Miami first-round draft pick who has played for the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions. For more coverage of the NFL go to our home page at Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider
