Braylon Edwards not suspended

San Francisco 49ers veteran wide receiver Braylon Edwards isn't being suspended by the league for his guilty plea for a driving under the influence case, a league source confirmed. However, he was fined $50,000 by the NFL. That's a fairly standard level of punishment from the NFL for a DWI conviction.

Signed to a one-year deal after the NFL lockout, Edwards was convicted of a misdemeanor DWI and was assigned to probation and 100 hours of community service.

Another off-field transgression for Edwards is likely to trigger an NFL suspension.
