"He looks ready to play," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said in remarks distributed by the team. "He’s had a good week. I think he’ll be fine. He had a really good day yesterday and today. We’re pretty limited in what we do today, but he was fine. As long as there’s no setbacks, he’s ready to go."
Foster is the reigning NFL rushing champion.
"I felt good today," Foster said. "It’s my first game of the season, so I am very anxious to play football. It’s trying to get in playing shape. I haven’t played football since August, so there has been fatigue, but that’s part of it.”
Running back Derrick Ward won't play, though, due to an ankle injury. Ben Tate will back up Foster.
"Ward is out," Kubiak said. "He will definitely be out, probably won’t even make the trip.”
