Rams sign CB Rod Hood

The St. Louis Rams agreed to a free agent deal with veteran cornerback Rod Hood today, a league source confirmed. Hood, 29, worked out for the Rams earlier this month. The Rams needed help at cornerback with Ronald Bartell out for the season and Justin King burned for three touchdowns Sunday during a 37-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Hood was sidelined last season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Hood has 14 career interceptions. He has previous stints with the Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals.

The Rams cut safety Jermale Hines from the active roster, cut rookie cornerback Dionte Dinkins from injured reserve and waived tight end-fullback Ben Guidugli from the practice squad. For more coverage of the NFL, go to profootball.scout.com. Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider
