Derrick Mason traded to Texans

The New York Jets have traded veteran wide receiver Derrick Mason to the Houston Texans in exchange for a conditional draft pick, according to the Houston Chronicle. Mason was replaced in three wide receiver sets by rookie Jeremy Kerley against the New England Patriots.

He has reportedly been complaining about his role behind the scenes, which fits in with how Mason conducted himself at times with the Baltimore Ravens.

Mason has caught just 13 passes for 145 yards this season. Now, the two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver will compete against the Ravens again after playing against them during a 34-17 win over the Jets before their bye.

After releasing him prior to training camp, the Ravens remained in contact with Mason. They eventually withdrew a veteran minimum contract offer to him and he signed with the Jets.
