The Oakland Raiders worked out veteran cornerback Lito Sheppard today, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. Sheppard worked out for the New York Giants and the Atlanta Falcons before signing with the Raiders in August, but was released.

Last year, he started two out of the 13 games he played for the Minnesota Vikings. Two years ago, he started nine games for the New York Jets. Sheppard was once a top cornerback during his tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles. For more coverage of the NFL, go to Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInside
