Vikings Chris Cook arrested

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Chris Cook is in trouble with the law, facing a pair of misdemeanor domestic assault charges, according to jail records. And Cook seems likely to miss the Vikings' game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday since he's being held in the Hennepin County Jail without bail since being arrested by Eden Prairie police and isn't due in court until 8:15 a.m. Monday.

Cook was processed at the jail at 4:06 a.m. on two counts of domestic violance charges, including domestic assault and intentional attempts to inflict bodily harm on another. “The Minnesota Vikings are aware of the incident involving Chris Cook," the team said in a statement. "We take this matter very seriously and are still gathering all the details of the incident. We will not have any further comment at this time.”

The former second-round draft pick from the University of Virginia was arrested in Virginia eight months ago for brandishing a gun. However, he was acquitted in that case.

Cook has been counted on as a starter since Antoine Winfield is sidelined with a neck problem. So, this a big problem for Cook and the Vikings.
