Steelers place Aaron Smith on IR

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Aaron Smith was placed on injured reserve today with a foot injury. The Steelers added defensive end Corbin Bryant to the roster to take Smith's place. Smith, 35, is a gritty veteran 3-4 anchor, but was placed on injured reserve two seasons ago.

During the past three seasons, Smith has been limited to a total of 15 games. It's unclear if Smith will opt to retire or mount another comeback attempt following this latest injury setback.
