The Buffalo Bills signed outside linebacker Antonio Coleman off the New York Giants' practice squad. The former Auburn standout takes the place of veteran outside linebacker Shawne Merriman on the active roster.

Merriman was placed on injured reserve with an Achilles injury that will require surgery to repair the damage.

Coleman was an All-Southeastern Conference selection who went undrafted and was cut on Sept. 3 before being signed to the Giants' practice squad on Sept. 28.

Now, he's back in Buffalo. For more coverage of the NFL, go to profootball.scout.com
