The Pittsburgh Steelers officially ruled out outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley today for Sunday's…
LaMarr Woodley ruled out
Wide receiver Hines Ward (ankle) is questionable and was limited, but is slated to start.
Ward told Pittsburgh reporters he had no intentions of being out this week after being sidelined against the New England Patriots. "I wouldn't miss this for the world," he said. "I think you have to play in this rivalry for a while to understand it. You have to understand the magnitude of it, what it means.
"They whipped our butt the first game. There's nothing we can really do about that. Now, we get a chance Sunday night in Heinz Field."
The Steelers ruled out wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (knee) and offensive guard Doug Legursky (toe). Jerricho Cotchery will take over Sanders' workload as the third receiver. Sanders is unlikely to play since his mother died and he's been out of town.
Offensive tackle Jonathan Scott (ankle) is probable.
Baltimore Ravens offensive guard Ben Grubbs practiced for the third day in a row without a setback, albeit on a limited basis all week.
He's still regarded as a game-time decision for Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a right turf toe that has sidelined him since the season opener. Grubb is listed as questionable.
"It hasn't been full practice, so I think it's a process," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "It's a plus that he's done a little more this week than he has in the past. We haven't had him out her full speed really yet. I'm hoping. We have our fingers crossed, we have for a few weeks. It's better than it has been, we'll just have to see."
If Grubbs is sidelined for the seventh game in a row, Andre Gurode will start in his place.
"I made it through three practices and I'm still walking, so that's a blessing," Grubbs said. "Really, I wouldn't say it's a game-time decision. It's up to the coaches, whatever they decide. I know they want me out there and I want to be out there, but the last thing I want to do is hurt the team. I really won't know until game time."
All-Pro defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (hamstring) returned to practice Friday on a limited basis after missing the previous two days and is set to play Sunday night. He's listed as probable.
"I'll feel good about it Sunday if he's playing, that's when you feel good about it," Harbaugh said. "He did more today. It's nothing real serious. He's fighting through it. It's kind of a midseason kind of deal."
Meanwhile, the Ravens ruled out wide receiver Lee Evans (left ankle) and inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (hamstring, groin). Harbaugh said Evans won't be placed on injured reserve and expressed optimism that he might return in a few weeks. Evans didn't practice all week and isn't expected to play Sunday.
"We have not considered that because we are confident he'll be out in the next few weeks and be able to play," Harbaugh said. "He's making good progress on the leg. He should play for us before too long."
Also questionable for Baltimore: kick returner David Reed (knee, ankle), rookie running back Anthony Allen (hamstring) and rookie cornerback Chykie Brown (knee).
Six-time Pro Bowl center Matt Birk (neck) and cornerback Danny Gorrer (hamstring) are probable.
