Dolphins sign Shayne Graham

The Miami Dolphins have signed former Pro Bowl kicker Shayne Graham as an injury replacement for kicker Dan Carpenter. They cut cornerback Jonathan Wade to make room for Graham on the roster. Graham won the job after trying out Friday along with kickers Brandon Coutu, Jeff Reed, Rhys Lloyd and Fabrizio Scacci. Graham was cut by the Washington Redskins earlier this year.

He has previous stints with teh Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Carolina Panthers and the Buffalo Bills. He has played in 138 career games, connecting on 208 of 242 field goals for an 86 percent success rate. Graham has also connected on 315 of 320 point-after attempts.

An undrafted college free agent, Graham made the Pro Bowl and earned All-Pro honors in 2005 with the Bengals.

He also holds several Bengals franchise records, including most field goals in a season (31), most field goals in a game (7), highest field goal percentage in a season (91.2) and most points in a season (131).

Graham attended Virginia Tech where he was the all-time scoring leader in school history and Big East history with 371 points. He connected on 68-of-93 field goal attempts (73.1 percent) in his four-year career for the Hokies.
