Texans work out Jeff Garcia

The Houston Texans auditioned five quarterbacks today with starter Matt Schaub sidelined with a foot injury. The workout included a blast from the past in former San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns quarterback Jeff Garcia.

The Browns also worked out former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Brody Croyle, former New York Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens, former Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards and former Rice quarterback Chase Clement.

The Texans only have two healthy quarterbacks on the current roster: Matt Leinart, who's starting in place of Schaub, and rookie T.J. Yates.

So, the Texans are in the market for an experienced backup quarterback.
