The Detroit Lions signed running back Aaron Brown as they placed running back Jahvid Best on injured reserve due to a concussion. Brown worked out for the Denver Broncos earlier this season Brown is a former Lions sixth-round draft pick from Texas Christian who has rushed for 189 career yards in the NFL with 17 receptions for 129 yards.

Brown was on the Lions' roster for two seasons, but was cut prior to the start of the regular season.

In 21 career games and two starts, he has a 4.3 average per carry. Besides losing Best for the season, the Lions are also dealing with Kevin Smith ailing with a sprained ankle.
