Not content with merely adding Jake Delhomme to back up rookie quarterback T.J. Yates, the Houston Texans are signing veteran quarterback Jeff Garcia. They cut third-string quarterback Kellen Clemens. Garcia is a former starter for the San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Browns who has also played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

They are also signing veteran punter Matt Turk, who was last with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

They placed punter Brett Hartmann on injured reserve with a left knee injury.
