SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Chargers outside linebacker Antwan Barnes was honored as the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Signed to a $3.2 million deal, Barnes recorded a career-high four sacks during the Chargers' 34-14 victory Sunday night.

Barnes didn't even start, but took advantage of offensive tackles Michael Oher and Bryant McKinnie as a situational pass rusher.

Barnes was traded by the Ravens last year to the Philadelphia Eagles for a seventh-round draft pick before being released.

Now, Barnes ranks fourth in the AFC with 11 sacks. For more coverage of the NFL, go to profootball.scout.com. Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider
