In a franchise-shaking move, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has fired vice chairman Bill Polian and general manager Chris Polian. The moves, first reported by ESPN, will be discussed today at a 5 p.m. press conference where Irsay will be available.

Playing without franchise quarterback Peyton Manning after he underwent neck surgery, the Colts went 2-14 this season.

The Colts earned the top overall pick in the draft and are expected to select Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.

Polian had shaped the Colts into a Super Bowl champion since joining the franchise in 1998 following him running the Carolina Panthers and the Buffalo Bills.

He's known as one of the top executives in the game, but is also known for his volcanic temper.
