Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson was indicted by a grand jury today on a single count of trafficking marijuana. If convicted, He could face between one to five years in prison. A drug shipment was delivered to Simpson's Kentucky home last fall.

The presiding district attorney said that Simpson has cooperated in the investigation and is eligible for a diversion program. He could potentially avoid jail time and be assigned to a combination of probation and community service.

He's due in court on Jan. 30. Simpson's girlfriend, Aleen Smith, signed for a package that contained 2 1/2 poinds of high-grade marijuana.

Simpson is an exciting receiver who made one of the season's most highlight-worthy plays when he flipped over an Arizona Cardinals linebacker and stuck the landing in the end zone to score a touchdown.
