Bills want to lock up Fred Jackson

The Buffalo Bills want to lock up running back Fred Jackson for the future. A former standout at Coe College, Jackson rushed for 934 yards and six touchdowns last season, despite missing the final six games with a broken fibula. Jackson has rushed for 3,794 yards and 16 touchdowns, catching 175 passes for 1,535 yards and four touchdowns.

The Bills want to reward Jackson by signing him to an extension with general manager Buddy Nix telling the team website: "Fred and I have talked. We want to extend Fred. I'd like for Fred to finish his career as a Bill. He's meant a lot to us. I've got great respect for him. We do want Fred back and we do intend to try to work out a deal with him. I've told him that. What we said is what we're going to do."
