Raiders sign CB Brandon Underwood

The Oakland Raiders are giving former Green Bay Packers cornerback Brandon Underwood a shot, signing him to a contract today. Underwood was suspended for two games by the NFL last season for violating the league's personal-conduct policy. The Packers, at one point, displayed interest in bringing back Underwood this year, but that was deterred by his suspension.

The Packers, at one point, displayed interest in bringing back Underwood this year, but that was deterred by his suspension. Underwood dealt with a domestic violence accusation last year from his wife. Underwood pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct. Underwood was charged following a dispute with his wife after the Packers' Super Bowl ring ceremony on June 16. He paid a fine of $767.50. It is considered a non-criminal offense. Last summer, Underwood was tangled up in a case involving two prostitutes at a Wisconsin resort.

Underwood allegedly ripped a necklace off his wife, Brandie Underwood, outside the couple's home.

Underwood is a former Packers sixth-round draft pick from the University of Cincinnati.

He was an All-Big East Conference selection at Cincinnati after transferring from Ohio State, intercepting four passes as as senior. He was released by Green Bay on Sept. 3.
