The Philadelphia Eagles have signed veteran quarterback Trent Edwards to a one-year contract. Edwards is a former Buffalo Bills starter and a third-round draft pick in 2007 out of Stanford. Edwards has passed for 6,019 yards, 26 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.

He was with the Oakland Raiders during training camp prior to being released. Edwards visited the Miami Dolphins and the Houston Texans during the season, also conducting meetings with the Eagles twice since the season ended.
