Saints ink Marques Colston to five-year deal

The New Orleans Saints have signed wide receiver Marques Colston to a five-year, $40 million contract that includes nearlY $20 million in guaranteed money, according to a league source. The deal prevents Colston from hitting the free agent market. Colston, 28, caught 80 passes for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

A former seventh-round draft pick from Hofstra, Colston has caught 449 passes for 6,240 yards and 48 touchdowns in six NFl seasons.

His career-high season was in 2007 when he caught 98 passes for 1,202 yards and 11 touchdowns.
