David Hawthorne to Saints on five-year deal

Seattle Seahawks veteran free agent linebacker David Hawthorne has joined the New Orleans Saints on a five-year contract, the team announced. Hawthorne previously visited the Saints and the Detroit Lions. Hawthorne recorded 115 tackles, three interceptions and two sacks, returning one interception for a touchdown.

The Saints previously signed free agent middle linebacker Curtis Lofton to a five-year contract.

A former undrafted free agent from Texas Christian, the 6-foot, 246-pounder has played for the Seahawks for four seasons and piled up 350 tackles, six sacks and five forced fumbles.
