Pope visited the Steelers today. A former Arizona Cardinals third-round draft pick from the University of Georgia, Pope played for the Kansas City Chiefs for the past three season. The 6-foot-8, 264-pounder started 10 games last season and set career-highs with 24 receptions for 247 yards.

For his career, Pope has 102 receptions for 973 yards and nine touchdowns. >BR> He has started all four postseason games in which he has played, including Super Bowl XLIII.

The Steelers needed depth at tight end with second-year tight end Weslye Saunders suspended for the first four games of next season for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.
