Chargers re-sign fullback Jacob Hester

The San Diego Chargers re-signed fullback Jacob Hester to a one-year contract, the team announced. Hester visited the Seattle Seahawks earlier this week. Hester, 26, has played for the Chargers for four seasons, but San Diego signed former Pro Bowl fullback Le'Ron McClain during free agency. Hester is expected to back up McClain and contribute on special teams.

Hester has rushed for 319 career yards and one touchdown with 55 catches for 308 yards and three touchdowns.

The 5-foot-11, 235-pounder played collegiately at LSU and was drafted in the third round by San Diego.

Hester was voted Special Teams Player of the Year by his teammates two years ago and was the special-teams captain last season.
