Veteran offensive tackle Matt Light was officially placed on the reserve/retired list by the New England Patriots today. A four-time Pro Bowl selection, Light played for the Patriots for 11 seasons. He started 153 career games. The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder played collegiately at Purdue. Light carried a $5 million salary-cap figure.

Going forward, the Patrots can plug in former first-round draft pick Nate Solder as their new starting left tackle.
