Veteran free agent running back Tim Hightower has rejoined the Washington Redskins via an agreement on a one-year contract. Hightower made the announcement via his official Twitter account. A league source confirmed the accuracy of Hightower's Tweet. Hightower is coming off a torn left anterior cruciate ligament sustained last season against the Carolina Panthers.

He rushed for 321 yards last season.

A former Arizona Cardinals fifth-round draft pick who was traded to the Redskins last year, Hightower has rushed for 2,054 career yards with 24 touchdowns. He has caught 128 passes for 879 yards and one touchdown.
