According to Alabama state troopers, Fairley was arrested at 1 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, no proof of insurance and having an open container in his car.
The former Auburn star is now free on $1,750 bond.
"We are aware of the reports and are in the process of gathering more information," the Lions said in a statement.
The former first-round draft pick was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana in Mobile earlier this year.
The former Auburn star has a July arraignment on the misdemeanor possession charge.
With this latest brush with the law and pending case, Fairley could face discipline from the NFL.
