Ochocinco, 34, didn't grasp the playbook well with the New England Patriots and was cut this week. And he never developed good timing with quarterback Tom Brady.
Now, he gets a fresh start in the AFC East with the Dolphins where he should provide HBO's Hard Knocks program with a dose of excitement.
He caught just 15 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown last season for the Patriots, though, at a cost of $5.75 million.
He was acquired from the Bengals for a fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick.
According to reports, Ochocinco jumped offsides at practice and frequently lined up in the wrong spot.
Ochocinco was cut even though he accepted a paycut from $3 million to $925,000 this offseason.
For his career, Ochocinco has caught 766 passes for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns.
