The NFL has suspended free agent offensive tackle Trevis Turner for the first four games of the regular season, according to a league source. The reason for the suspension is undisclosed. Turner was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted rookie free agent last year. The 6-foot-7, 333-pounder played collegiately at Abilene Christian.

Turner was a first-team Division II All-American selection by the Associated Press and named a finalist for the Gene Upshaw award.

He was also a first-team all-region and All-Lone Star Conference South Division selection.

Turner signed with Colorado State out of DeSoto High School in Texas, but transferred to Trinity Valley Junior College after his freshman year and then enrolled at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma before attending Abilene Christian.
