Jets trade for tackle Jeff Otah

The New York Jets landed offensive tackle Jeff Otah, acquiring him in a trade from the Carolina Panthers for an undisclosed conditional draft pick. The 6-foot-6, 340-pounder is a former Panthers first-round draft pick entering the final year of his rookie contract. Otah has started 29 career games. He started four of five games before being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Otah has started at right tackle in the past and is expected to compete with Wayne Hunter for a starting job in New York.
