Ryan Mathews breaks clavicle

San Diego Chargers starting running back Ryan Mathews sustained a broken clavicle against the Green Bay Packers. Mathews is slated to undergo surgery today and will be out four to six weeks, meaning the Chargers will need reinforcements in the backfield.

The Chargers also have Ronnie Brown in place as his backup as well as Jackie Battle.

Mathews rushed for 1,091 yards and six touchdowns last season, catching 50 passes for 455 yards.
