Assigned a $2,500 bail today, Miami Dolphins veteran wide receiver Chad Johnson will be released from jail following his arrest on a domestic violence charge for allegedly head-butting his wife, Evelyn Lozada, and causing a laceration on her forehead.
Johnson hasn't been formally charged. If he is, it's a misdemeanor.

Johnson is starting for the Dolphins, but his status could be affected by this off-field incident. Johnson, 34, is due a $925,000 base salary this year.
The argument between Johnson and Lozada allegedly stems from her discovering a receipt for a box of condoms..

A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Johnson got married to Lozada on July 4.
