Dwayne Bowe reports

The Chiefs had until July 16 to sign Bowe to a long-term deal, but no deal was struck. "Today was the league's deadline to designate a franchise player and we felt it was in the best interest of the Kansas City Chiefs to place the tag on Dwayne," Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli said in a statement when the Chiefs tagged Bowe

A former first-round draft pick from LSU, Bowe has caught 356 passes for 4,927 yards and 36 touchdowns in five NFL seasons.

In his last two seasons, Bowe has caught 153 passes for 2,321 yards and 20 touchdowns. Last season, he recorded 81 receptions for 1,159 yards and five touchdowns.

Two years ago, he registed 72 catches for a career-best 1,162 yards and a franchise-record 15 touchdowns. At LSU, Bowe was an All-Southeastern Conference selection who caught 154 passes for 2,403 yards and a school-record 26 touchdowns.
