Dre Kirkpatrick passes physical

Cincinnati Bengals rookie cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick passed his physical and was activated from the physically unable to perform list. Kirkpatrick is recovering from a knee injury sustained during a July workout. Drafted 17th overall in the first round, the former ALabama consensus All-American selection signed a four-year, $8.6 million contract with a team option for a fifth year.

At the NFL scouting combine, the 6-foot-2, 192-pounder ran the 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds and registered a 35-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot broad jump.

Kirkpatrick had 26 tackles, nine pass deflections, returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown, forced two fumbles. Two seasons ago, Kirkpatrick had 53 tackles and three interceptions.
