“This is an extraordinary kid," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told reporters. "He just kept knocking us out with what he brought. I’ve watched our team respond to him and they’ve taken to his leadership style.”
Meanwhile, the Seahawks are in the process of trading third quarterback and former starter Tarvaris Jackson to the Buffalo Bills for a later-round draft pick.
Flynn is the Seahawks' backup.
Although undersized at 5-foot-11, Wilson is mobile, accurate and strong-armed.
He went 13 for 19 for 185 yards two touchdowns and a 134.8 passer rating with 58 rushing yards against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday night.
It was enough to win the job.
