Thomas Howard out for the season

Cincinnati Bengals starting outside linebacker Thomas Howard tore his anterior cruciate ligament in practice this week and was placed on injured reserve, ending his season. Howard led the Bengals with 120 tackles last season. He had four tackles, one sack and a pass deflection in a 44-13 loss to the Ravens

Howard is an unrestricted free agent after this season. Vincent Rey or Dan Skuta will replace Howard.

Former University of Texas linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy was signed to replace Howard on the roster.

A former fourth-round draft pick, Muckelroy had 17 tackles and a sack during the preseason for the Bengals.
