Jaguars sign Maurice Stovall

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed tight end Maurice Stovall to a one-year contract and released veteran tight end Stephen Spach. Stovall has played in 71 games with 11 starts after being selected in the third round of the 2006 draft by Tampa Bay.

His career totals include 52 receptions for 668 yards and three touchdowns. He spent five seasons with the Buccaneers before joining Detroit in 2011 where he played in 15 games.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder entered the NFL as a wide receiver before making a move to tight end.

Stovall finished his Notre Dame career ranked third in school history with 18 career touchdown receptions and 130 receptions.
