Broncos Draft Preview

The Broncos were active this off-season but still have big needs going into the NFL Draft.

Denver Broncos
2014 draft picks:
1st round (31), 2(63), 3(95), 4(131), 5(171), 6(207), 7(246)

Denver and Peyton Manning had a magical season only to come up short and stymied by the Seattle defense in the Super Bowl. The window is closing on Manning but he showed last season why he's an all-timer.

There has been a lot of turnover with the Broncos roster but the defense looks upgraded already with the additions of defensive end DeMarcus Ware, cornerback Aqib Talib and safety T.J. Ward. Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders should thrive with Manning in that offense.

Team Needs

1. Middle Linebacker
This is the Broncos soft spot of their defense. Do they reach and pick an inside guy [too] early with the 31st pick or wait it out until the second or third round? Unless C.J. Mosley falls to Denver in the first round they should wait to get their guy.

2. Defensive Backs
Despite the free agent signings of Talib and Ward, the Broncos still need to address the secondary at both the cornerback and safety spots. Gone now are Champ Bailey and Dominique Cromartie-Rodgers.

3. Defensive End
Despite the signing of Ware they still need to find a young pass rusher. Ware has battled injuries and you wonder how much is left in the tank?

4. Offensive Guard
If there is a weak link upfront it's at the guard position. Denver will likely address this need and perhaps early. You have to keep Manning healthy.
