Strength schedule for an NFL team has become far too often a gauge to determine how successful a team is/was in any given season. Especially in Dallas, the schedule isn't favorable according to this pre-season workup.

Strength schedule for an NFL team has become far too often a gauge to determine how successful a team is/was in any given season. While there is a statistic for almost any situation in or around the National Football League, the strength of schedule is one barometer that is a common factor in determining playoff spot races to even an excuse for a team front office when the season hadn’t progressed as well as anticipated.

 

Below is a workup of the 2003 season strength of schedule, ranked in order of easiest schedule to most difficult, from 2002 NFL season results.
