Scouting Report: Albert Means
Full Name: Albert Means School Memphis Ht: 6-3.5 Wt 345 40: 5.11 Number 77 Bio: 2002: Sat out the concentrating on academic work to regain his eligibility for the 2003 season 2001: Became a starter at defensive tackle after being given back his eligibility by the NCAA in a highly-publicized case involving the University of Alabama. 2000: Lettered as a true freshman at Alabama in 2000. Played in seven games and started the final four games, totaling credited with 18 tackles including two tackles for lost yardage The Good: Highly recruited yet much maligned prospect who may be getting his career back on track. Powerful athlete in the middle of the line that takes up space gets a lot of push up the field and has the ability to destroy double teams. Quick off the snap, immediately alters his angle of attack and makes plays up and down the line of scrimmage. Can stuff the run or pursue the ball. The Bad: Not the most cognitive or instinctive ball player. Seems poorly conditioned and wears down at times. Also disappears for stretches. Academically ineligible during the 2002 season. The Skinny: Even with the horror of his freshman season at Alabama behind him, Means can be his own worst enemy at times. Yet, at the top of his game Means is a dominant force that displays skills worthy of a top NFL prospect. After getting married over the summer and sorting his priorities, Means seemingly rededicated himself to football and is have a terrific junior campaign. If he stays the course Means will be, a first round pick in 2005.
