As we first alerted you on December
29th, Ohio State junior cornerback Chris Gamble announced after the Buckeyes
Fiesta Bowl victory Friday evening his intentions of entering the NFL Draft.
Gamble, who started as a receiver and punt returner for Ohio State before moving
to cornerback on a full-time basis, has been an all-Big Ten selection the past
two seasons.
He told the school's web site, "I knew I was always ready to play in the
NFL. I had some bad games this year but I just wanted to bounce back and play
real good this game. I think I did. I think I'm just ready right now."
TFY Analysis: You can't help but love Gamble's athleticism,
explosiveness and penchant for the big play. Conversely, his continual
mental lapses which result in big plays is bothersome. Gamble has a lot of
skill but the breakdowns are a concern and will get him drafted much later then
many are projecting.
