Randy Starks, a third year junior, has been an All Conference performer the
past two seasons and finished with career highs of 73 tackles, 14.5 tackles for
loss and 7.5 sacks. A press conference will be held later today.
In other news, center Ben Wilkerson has decided to stay at LSU even though he
would've fit into the late part of round one and would've been the first player
at his position drafted. Auburn cornerback Carlos Rogers and San Diego State linebacker Kirk Morrison will stay for their senior seasons.
TFY Analysis: Starks is a solid run-stuffing tackle but still needs time to
develop both physically and technically. At face value, after watching him
on film, we don't think he'll go as early as many are predicting. Then
again, defensive tackles always find a way of being selected much higher then
most think.
