Scouting Report: Andy Hall
Name: Andy Hall School: Delaware Year: 4Sr Ht: 6-2 Wt: 220 40: 4.96 Pos: QB Bio: Two-year starter named Atlantic Ten Offensive Player of the Year last season after completing 61.9% of his throws for 2,764 yards with 25 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 16 games. Also gained 710 yards rushing on 163 carries, averaging 4.4 yards per rush with 8 scores. Passing numbers were 52%/1,832/9/5 as a junior when he also rushed for 863 yards, breaking the Delaware single season record for a quarterback. Began his career at Georgia Tech where he saw limited action his first two years in college. Pos: Smart, athletic quarterback with marginal potential for the next level. Patient in the pocket, poised and buys time for receivers. Sells his ball fakes, looks off the safety and displays a good sense of timing. Goes through receiver progressions and does not force the pass, rather holds the ball down and runs with it if nothing is available, making positive yardage with his legs. Escapes the rush and can make the throw on the move. Tough and will play with pain. Neg: Lacks stature in the pocket, height and accuracy outside of ten yards. Can not zip the outs or drive the deep pass. Has difficulty withstanding the rush and must press to get velocity on his passes. Has a history of injuries, many of which required surgery during the off season. Analysis: An intelligent signal caller, Hall makes the most of all his abilities. Could be effective as a third quarterback or practice squad player, but lacks the legitimate physical skills and abilities to see real action in the NFL.
