Scouting Report: Jon Bradley

Scouting Report: Jon Bradley

Name: Jon Bradley School: Arkansas State Year: 5Sr
Ht: 6-1 Wt: 290 40: 5.05 Pos: DT

Bio: Four year starter named as a first team All-Conference pick as both a junior and senior after being awarded second team All-League honors as a sophomore. Totaled 49 tackles with 13 tackles for loss and 4 sacks last season, after 71/13/8 the prior year. Had a major impact as a sophomore producing 66/9/0.

Pos: Explosive lineman whose tremendous quickness gives him an added advantage over defenders. Plays with good lean, effective with his hands and slides off blocks laterally to get to the action. Quickly alters his angle of attack or changes direction, plays with leverage and always keeps his pad low to the ground. Can twist or stunt, slips off blocks then wraps up tackling at the point of attack. Displays a tremendous first step off the snap of the ball as well as closing speed when chasing the ball carrier. Quick in his head and good feel for the position. Competes hard and a high motor lineman.

Neg: Knocked off the ball by larger linemen, not strong at the point and lacks bulk on the inside. Not as good defending the run as his numbers would dictate.

Analysis: Known as someone who loves the game and a leader on the team, Bradley has been very productive on the college level. Lacks the size, growth potential and pure strength to start in the NFL but should be effective as a three-technique lineman used in a system that rotates its players up front. Could sneak into the middle rounds come draft day.
