Scouting Report: Casey Cramer
Name: Casey Cramer School: Dartmouth Year: 4Sr Ht: 6-2 Wt: 245 40: 4.77 Pos: TE Bio: Second team All-Conference selection as a senior after catching 58 passes for 695 yards with 6 scores. Turned in a career season as a junior when he was voted All-American and All-League after catching 72/1,107/7, leading the nation in receptions for a tight end. Totaled 37/56/6 as a sophomore when he also saw time as a signal caller. Pos: Tough and competitive prospect who lacks the size to play tight end at the next level and may find a new position. Quick off the snap into routes, plays with a high revving motor and goes 100 mph until the whistle blows. Solid route runner who stays low on exit, reads the defense and sneaks into the open space. Remains focused, looks the pass in and displays strong hands with the ability to extend, adjust and make the tough catch in traffic. Offers the quarterback a nice target and works running after the reception. Shields opponents with his frame and uses his body to protect the pass. Bends his knees and gets his hands up as a blocker, displaying skill in pass protection. Neg: Overextends and off balance as a blocker, not dominant at the point and can not finish defenders off. Lacks downfield speed and the ability to beat linebackers as a pass receiver. Overextends and does not play with great balance. Analysis: An ultra productive collegiate pass catcher, Cramer could find a home as a pass catching fullback at the next level. Needs to improve his overall blocking techniques and abilities but shows the intensity and tenacity as well as the football smarts to make it at the next level.
